Background
The Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission is the official government body responsible for all atomic energy matters in the United Republic of Tanzania.
TAEC was established by Parliament Act No. 7 of 2003 (The Atomic Energy Act. No.7 of 2003). Formerly known as the National Radiation Commission, it was established by Parliament Act 5 of 1983 (The Protection from Radiation Act. No.5 of 1983).
Call for Concept Notes
Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC), in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), presents its compliments to the general public and has the honor to announce the start of preparations for the Technical Cooperation (TC) projects for the years 2026–2027. The TC projects are prepared through the submission of Country Program Notes (CPNs) or Concepts.
The CPNs should be developed based on the Country Programme Frameworks (CPFs) (attached) and should take into consideration other national development plans.
Different stakeholders/sectors where nuclear technology can provide contributions for sustainable developments are strongly welcome to submit their concept notes based on the attached template (National Project Document).
Submission
The submitted concept notes will be reviewed and thereafter submitted for discussion during the stakeholders meeting in April 2024 to refine the concepts. We would appreciate it if we obtained the concept notes by April 10 April, 2024, through the email address dg@taec.go.tz; copy nla@taec.go.tz.
AEC is encouraging you all to submit your concept notes on time. Please send all developed concepts to TAEC secretariat via nla@taec.go.tz before the above mentioned deadline.
