Ordinary Level Chinese Language Syllabus
This syllabus has been developed to introduce Chinese Language to Tanzania Secondary Schools to compliment with the objectives of the Education and Training Policy (2014) which insists on the importance of foreign language in national, regional and international issues including communication. The Chinese syllabus puts impassion contents which develop main competences of comprehension, communication and vocabulary use
through listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
The designing of leaning activities for the intended competences has been addressed to guide content and methods selection. Effective implementation of this syllabus depends upon full accomplishment of teaching and learning of the pupil’s identified tasks. The Chinese syllabus will be piloted in few schools in Tanzania. This will help to make changes before it is distributed or offered widely. The information gathered from the pilot will be used to strengthen and improve the content, materials, and delivery strategies in the next version of the syllabus. Teachers and students are therefore expected to use this syllabus effectively as a precious resource in delivering Chinese language in Secondary Schools.
