Introduction
The Genral Secretary Office for the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government, Engineer Joseph Nyamhanga has announced release of 13000 newly recruited teachers for Government Prinmary and Secondary School in Tanzania. Secretary said, “Government has increased the number of primary school teachers in rural schools where there is a serious shortage of teachers.”
Speaking to the media today about the new recruitment of primary and secondary school teachers as well as laboratory technicians, Engineer Nyamhanga said that for primary schools, teachers recruitment has been conducetd with the aim of meeting the teacher-student ratio.
Engineer Nyamhanga said that 60% of all employed teachers have been sent to primary schools, especially in rural areas where there is a great need for teachers in the country.
He further clarified that the Government has prioritized recruiting teachers for secondary schools with a focus on science and mathematics, vocational, agricultural and knowledge, domestic knowledge, English, Chinese and French.
He said that teachers of other subjects are arranged according to the existing scercity where the priority has gone to schools that do not have teachers of the relevant subjects.
Engineer Nyamhanga said they have also considered schools with special needs where 481 teachers are employed to those schools and that, the issue of Government employment age has been considered for teachers who have found employment are those who graduated from college from 2014 to 2019.

In addition, Engineer Nyamhanga said that the new staff of primary and secondary school teachers should ensure that they report to the designated centers within 14 days, otherwise they will have lost their positions and will be filled by other applicants.
“New employees are required to report for work from 1 to 14 December 2020 who will fail to report their positions will be filled by other qualified applicants present in the database of the Office of the President – PMO-RALG”, stressed Engineer Nyamhanga.
He also instructed the directors of the Councils to which the teachers are scheduled to receive and enable them in accordance with the rules, regulations, procedures and guidelines of the public service.
However, he instructed the directors of the Council to ensure that they provide information to report the employees and fill them in electronically after each employee has been received at the work station.
“Complete the employment procedures as soon as possible so that these teachers can be included in the payroll system as soon as possible”, instructed Engineer Nyamhanga.
On September 7, this year the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli approved the new employment of 13,000 Primary and Secondary school teachers as well as the Designers of the School Laboratory Technicians.

As you have been agogly waiting for the release of names of teachers who have been recruited to government schools, today Novermber 27, 2020, the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government’s officials have released the names of the awaited issue.
Summary: There are 2,160 staffs assigned to 1,721 secondary schools. Among them, 1,900 teachers are from Science and Mathematics, 100 are English teachers and 160 Laboratory Technicians.
