Mody University Mody Institute of Technology and Science is an academic institute located in India, Asia. In this article, you...
My name is Juma Mpanga. I was born in Nyanganga Village, Uvinza District, Kigoma, Tanzania. I got my primary education at Nyanganga Primary School in 1996 in the same Uvinza District, Kigoma. After that, I joined secondary education at Bitale Secondary School in Kigoma District in that year of 2003. From Bitale, I went to Mwenge High School in Singida region to join Advanced Level Studies from 2007 to 2009.
After having been to Mwenge High School, I was recruited as a temporary teacher at Zashe Secondary School in Kigoma District and Kalenge Secondary School in Uvinza; that was from 2009 to June, 2011.
On July 22, 2011, I joined the Diploma in Secondary Education program at Kasulu Teachers’ College. At the college, I measured Physical Education and Sports together with Geography. The story at Kasulu Teachers’ College, ended on May 17, 2013.
In late 2016, I joined the University of Dar es Salaam to pursue a Bachelor of Education in Psychology. As of September 2019, I graduated.
Blogging and Technologies
As long as I was born in a village, I did not get a chance to interact with technological devices like mobile phones, smart phones, computers, tablets, camerasor even electronic stationeries.
My first interaction with technological devices was in June, 2004 when I managed to operate a mobile phone from one of my brother from another mother. I was in Form Two, I remember.
In Singida at Mwenge High School, we had neither computer subject nor cafe. As I had much interests in computer related matters, I used to go to town to seek out Internet Cafes so I could surf. I remember, in 2006, I first opened an emails account on Yahoo! Mail, which is still useful (jumails@ymail.com) and a Facebook account, which is also still working. The creation of email account and opening of Facebook account were done by myself without any assistance.
From those moments of going to town from Mwenge frequently, made me become very acquainted with computer related skills. I did a lot of things, particularly surfing, creating word documents, but many of them were done in a trial and error mode.
I never possessed neither a mobile phone nor a computer, until when I completed my A’ level studies. I bought my first owned mobile phone in December, 2009 after having received my first wage from Zashe Secondary School where I used to serve as part time teacher. I remember the very first mobile phone I bought was Nokia 1100, which is the most sold mobile phones of all the time. Thanks to Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
None taught me how to configure all of the settings and menus from that kind of Nokia mobile I had, instead, many of my colleagues submitted their devices to seek help on settings they failed to operate. From there I noticed like having a hidden power inside me.
When I went to Kasulu Teachers’ College, I found a course called Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from a list of 11 courses. Wonderful! And, I dare to declare, that is where my journey to blogging began. I was very much interested in that course. My tutor, Njili, God Bless Him. I used to study between line all the stuffs on that particular course. Worsily, we had no enough practicals something which made me to spare another time to visit Internet Cafes in Kasulu Town whenever I got time and money. I remember, my favourite Cafe was that which were found at Anglican Church in Kasulu.
I graduated a Diploma in Secondary School, then came back at our Village, where I started engaging myself in retails businesses and other masonry activities. I even once became a bodaboda (motorcycle driver for business) in the same Kasulu Town, the business which lasted for only three months.
The diploma results were announced, and I did not fail. I waited for the employment form Government, as for those periods, Government of Tanzania used to employ all graduate unlikely recent times. You can now start to notice, how blogging and technology related matters started.
Work and Employment
On April 1, 2014, I was appointed to become an employee at Lugalo Secondary School in Iringa Region as a Physical Education and Sports Teacher as well as a Geography Teacher. I reported at Iringa Municipal Council for further consideration following my appointment as a permanent and pensionable servant.
While in Iringa, at the very beginning, the salary was very minute, as I couldn’t manage to buy even a smartphone, as I initially used to buy furniture and cooking vessels as my priorities to survive in town. Therefore, I continued to visit various Internet cafes to do some of the interesting issues on the internet, and I started to create some blogs. And I remember, my first blog to be created on the internet was wikijuma.webs.com, which is no longer found. I used to spend a lot of time on the internet. As time went on, things started to improve, and I bought my own smartphone and laptop. I remember, my first smartphone was a Tecno N50, while my first laptop was a Samsung.
Things went on, and I became masterful at blogging. I created my own blog. I became more acquainted with blogging, and I also started to design graphics. My favourite blogs were Mjengwa Blog, Tanzania Today, and Maswayetu Blog. I made my own blog names, WikiJuma, and JumaClick, thereafter, I bought an AdSense account from MaswaYetu, and started questing for online money.
I worked for 12 months without reaching a threshold for AdSense. Finally, my AdSense account was disabled. It hurt me, but because blogging was in my blood, I never thought of quitting. Never. I continued working as an amateur.
I worked at Lugalo Secondary School for only two years and a half, then I went to the University of Dar es Salaam to join my bachelor studies. I was accommodated at Mabibo Hostel. There, I opened another blog called eMwalimu.com, for which I applied for an AdSense account. Around July, 2017, I received an email from Google stating that my AdSense request was approved, and, therefore, I could run ads on my blog, eMwalimu.com. I did not believe it, as getting an AdSense account has never been an easy task.
I ran ads on my blog for 3 months, then I reached my first threshold. Wonderful. I remember, my first earnings from Google were $123. That was enough for me, as you may remember, I had been working since 2014, roughly 4 years of merely passionate blogging. Not easy.
I then created another blog for myself. I named it Jumaclick. It also runs ads. Then I created another one named Jumaclicks, it also run ads. All of these blogs were hosted on Blogger.com. Later I got an idea to host a WordPress website following advices from my fellow Bloggers. I signed up at Hostinger as it was one of the cheapest hosting company by that time. I was given a free domain, which I called it YouScholars, as I thought it could contain education and job articles.
And today, I have two major brands on the internet, YouScholars, Inc., and Jumaclicks.NET. I can not tell you where these names came from if you have gone through my story all the way between lines.
YouScholars, Inc. is an educational website concentrating primarily on publishing education and job articles around the globe. Jumaclicks.NET is my website, which represents me and my services.
This journey has never been easy. I can remember the moment I learned to customize Blogger blogs via HTML codes without any assistance. Very genius me. I made it.
I am now back at my working station after graduation. Very outstanding in blogging, multimedia,, and educational professionalism.
Progressive me
I have tried to narrate a very thin story of life. If you followed me from the very beginning, you came to realise that my story is categorised into two components. There are things I do based on my profession, teaching. The second component, are the things I do based on my passion, blogging.
Doing things based on your profession makes you recognized. But doing things based on your passion, makes you happy. I am happy, I am recognized.
Are you still need to see me in this story? It seems you are very interested. Yes. It’s me, from nothing to something. I earn money online through various means. You can find me so we may discuss together through the contacts detail I have provided at the end of this story.
